The Hub is just one year old and has been built to the highest specification for disability access with parking, toilets, hearing loop, lift and flat access to the garden and terrace with wide flat pathways around the garden. For all performances there is plenty of room at the front of the raked seating for wheelchairs.

IntroductionThe public areas of the building are situated on two main floors; the ground floor is level throughout with a public elevator, designed for wheelchair use, servicing the first floor to the dressing rooms, stage and workshop. There is a further similar elevator in the Merryfield Theatre to the technical control room. There is adequate lighting and security cameras are situated at strategic points to allow monitoring so help can be offered if necessary. Hearing induction loops are fitted throughout the public areas of the building ArrivalThe Hub has its own private car park with 6 well situated and clearly signed ‘disabled only’ parking bays which are wide enough for fully open car doors and wheelchairs. The ground is level with no kerbs to negotiate between the car park and main entrance. Main Entrance & Box OfficeAccess to the reception area is through automatic opening double doors onto an even and slip resistant surface. Main Public Areas (ground floor)A second set of double doors lead from reception to the Coffee Shop area where there is level access to our main hire rooms, outside terrace, art gallery and the theatre. Two ‘disabled’ toilets are accessed from the Coffee Shop. Main Public Areas (first floor)Admission to the first floor is via an elevator with level access to the dressing rooms, stage doors and workshop. A ‘disabled’ toilet is available on first floor.
